Mankind has entered a period of peace and prosperity due to worldwide cooperation in the construction of Atlas, an orbital lift leading to a solar power plant that aims to provide cheap energy for every nation.

Players take on the role of Albert Grabner as he navigates through treacherous landscapes, avoiding capture by Brenda Lockhart's mercenary forces. The Colonel puts his own spin on events, claiming that Albert is responsible for kidnapping the President and that his forces are the true heroes.

Gun Hazard certainly feels like an evolution of Cybernator, featuring the same style of mech (or 'wanzer') animation. In fact, the same core team that created Cybernator was involved in the development of Gun Hazard. However, it's not a traditional sequel to Front Mission - instead, it's a whole new beast that offers players more options and gameplay variety.
